$3 Stock Trades Brokerage Firms 2012
|
Many investors are asking me if there are discount brokerage firms that charge $3 or less to buy/sell stocks/ETFs. And my answer is "Yes".
Stock broker commissions came down a lot since the time Charles Schwab introduced discount stock trading for $30 per trade. Competition
among brokerage houses is stronger than ever, with new companies continuously pressuring established ones with aggressive pricing. There is
a clear trend of lower commissions and fees.
Let's take a look at discount brokerage firms offering $3 or less commissions on buying/selling securities (stocks and ETFs):

ChoiceTrade is the best overall option among these online brokers. It charges just $0.005 per share with $1 (yes, one dollar)
minimum commission. With that rate all orders of up to 200 shares will cost you $1! And all orders of up to 600 shares will be $3 or less.

costs though: Interactive Brokers will charge $10 per month inactivity fee and $10 for market data if your trading
commissions are less than $30 per month. Total inactivity fees could be as high as $240 per year.
