TD Ameritrade (TD Ameritrade Review) has commissions on stocks and ETFs that are twice as expensive as MB Trading's (MB Trading Review): $9.99 versus $5. However, MB Trading charges $0.005 per share more for extended hours trading and more complicated order types.

Unlike MB Trading, TD Ameritrade does not have annual IRA fee and we recommend it for a brokerage retirement account.

Both companies don't charge account maintenance and inactivity fees, offer good customer service, trading tools and easy account opening process.
