Charles Schwab vs Zecco: Comparison Summary
Charles Schwab (Charles Schwab Review)
was one of the first discount online brokerages, but it is not as "discount" now:
compare their $8.95 commission per stock and ETF trade
and $49.95 per mutual fund transaction to Zecco's (Zecco Review)
$4.95 commission per stocks and ETF trade and $10 per mutual fund transaction.
Charles Schwab has one advantage over Zecco: better customer service. Zecco offers free streaming quotes and dividend
reinvestment, and it is much friendlier than Charles Schwab brokerage for beginner investors,
offering vibrant, helpful online investor community, where users could ask questions, learn from each other, and follow
what other, more advanced traders are doing. Zecco, however, in 2012 did not make it into our list of
Top Rated Brokerage Companies.
Charles Schwab has higher than average commissions, which could cost customers thousands in investment costs over the years and we see no
reason to overpay brokerage firm. With very cheap trades and lots of free client services, Zecco is easily a better broker
out of these two.
