Coinbase Amex Credit Card in 2026

Coinbase Credit Card Review

Highlights:

• Coinbase is rolling out a new credit card in partnership with American Express.

• Access to the credit card requires a premium Coinbase membership.

• Every purchase made with the Coinbase One card earns Bitcoin rewards.

If earning Bitcoin on everyday spending sounds appealing, the Coinbase One credit card makes that possible. Below is what you should know about this new card:

Overview of Coinbase’s Credit Card

Coinbase is launching a new American Express credit card known as the Coinbase One Card. This product is separate from Coinbase’s Visa debit card. The credit card is issued through a collaboration between Cardless, Inc., American Express, and First Electronic Bank.

The card is crafted from stainless steel and weighs 17 grams. Engraved on the black metal surface is the Genesis Block, the very first block mined on the blockchain. The front of the card also features the historic message from that first block:

The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks

While the design nods to crypto history, the American Express partnership brings familiar credit card features that many cardholders value.

Eligibility for the Coinbase Credit Card

The Coinbase credit card is limited to customers who hold an active Coinbase One membership. Applicants must also have a residential address in one of the 50 U.S. states or Washington, D.C. Residents of U.S. territories and people living outside the United States are not eligible to apply.

Getting the Coinbase Amex Card

U.S. customers who want the Coinbase One card must first enroll in a Coinbase One membership. Coinbase offers three plans: Basic, Preferred, and Premium, with the option to pay monthly or annually.

After activating your Coinbase One membership, you can submit a credit card application. Log in to your Coinbase account on the website, click “Credit Card” in the left-side menu, and select the option to apply. Follow the on-screen prompts to finish the application. Coinbase may run a hard credit check as part of the approval process.

You may also apply using the Coinbase mobile app. Sign in, tap the “Credit Card” icon at the bottom of the app, and complete the same steps available on the website.
