Cryptocurrency at Webull
There are only a few popular stock trading brokers that let you trade cryptocurrencies directly, and Webull is one of them. In this article, we will cover the cryptocurrencies you can trade on Webull, the fees involved, and how to place a crypto trade on Webull.
What are the Commissions for Trading Cryptocurrency on Webull?
There are no direct commissions or fees for trading crypto on Webull. However,
Webull includes a 1% price spread in the price of the crypto you’re buying or selling. This creates wider price spreads for crypto on Webull.
Webull Crypto Minimums
You don’t need to maintain a minimum balance to start trading crypto on Webull. The smallest amount you can buy in USD is $1. You can also buy fractions of crypto with as little as 0.00000001 of a share.
Can you Transfer Crypto on and off of Webull?
At the moment, you can’t transfer crypto into or out of Webull. The only way to get crypto in your Webull account is to buy it through Webull, and the only way to move your money out of crypto is by selling it and transferring the cash.
However, in 2022, Webull announced it was working on a crypto wallet beta that is “coming soon.” Webull hasn’t provided more information about when the beta will be available or when they’ll launch the crypto wallet. Once it’s available, a crypto wallet on Webull will let you send and receive crypto to and from your Webull account.
What are the Trading Hours and Order Types for Crypto on Webull?
You can trade crypto 23 hours a day, 7 days a week on Webull, except for a daily maintenance break from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm ET. The settlement for crypto trades on Webull takes 1-2 business days, depending on when you make the trade.
You can use market, limit, and stop-limit orders to trade crypto on Webull. The time-in-force options are good 'til canceled (GTC), immediate or cancel (IOC), and day. You cannot trade crypto on margin or short-sell crypto on Webull. Crypto trading is only available in individual brokerage accounts, not IRAs.
How to Place a Crypto Trade on Webull
Webull has a list of more than 40 cryptocurrencies available for trading on its app and website. You can view detailed charts, news, and profiles for each cryptocurrency. On the website, you can also filter the list of cryptocurrencies by last price, percentage change from the previous close, and dollar value change.
Here’s how to place a crypto trade on the Webull app. First, select the “Markets” icon from the main menu. Next, choose the “Crypto” tab from the list of markets. If the “Crypto” tab isn’t visible, click the hamburger icon in the top-right corner and make sure “Crypto” is listed under your “Selected” markets.
Once you’re on the “Crypto” markets screen, you’ll see the full list of 40+ cryptocurrencies available for trading on Webull. After choosing your cryptocurrency, you’ll be taken to its overview page. From there, select the “Trade” button.
You should now see a screen showing a chart of your selected cryptocurrency, the bid/ask prices, and an order ticket. Fill out the order ticket with the required information, including whether you’re buying or selling, the order type, stop or limit prices (if needed), the amount in dollars or shares, and the time-in-force option.
At the bottom of the order ticket, you’ll see your account’s crypto buying power and the estimated value of your order in USD. Once everything is filled out, click the buy or sell button. Afterward, you’ll see a review of your order. If everything looks correct, click confirm.
After confirming, you’ll see an order confirmation screen that shows details such as the average price, the time of the order, and the quantity filled. If you’ve completed your crypto order, congrats and welcome to owning cryptocurrency through Webull!
