ZEC – Zcash

Zcash (ZEC) is a cryptocurrency built on the original Bitcoin blockchain code. ZEC focuses on private cryptocurrency transactions and secure internet payments. The project is also moving to a staking model to reduce its carbon footprint.

XLM – Stellar Lumens

Stellar Lumens (XLM) is a cryptocurrency built on its own blockchain. The XLM powers the global, cross-currency payment system known as Stellar. XLM has a market cap of over $7B and it is one of the fastest and cheapest ways to send money globally.

DASH – Dash

Dash (DASH) is a cryptocurrency focused on enabling instant payments globally, and for very low cost. DASH has a market cap of $1.7B and comes with app-enabled features that let users choose how fast or secure their transactions are.

ETC – Ethereum Classic

Ethereum Classic (ETC) is a blockchain that is very similar to the original Ethereum code. Following a hard fork in 2016, ETC has established itself as a ‘pure’ decentralized app host. Many other tokens are built on the ETC chain, and the cryptocurrency now has a market cap of nearly $8B.

BCH – Bitcoin Cash

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is a token resulting from a hard fork with the original BTC blockchain. Like Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash is rare with a top limit of 21 million coins (currently at 18 million in circulation). Unlike Bitcoin, BCH is made to be scalable, allowing the token to be used for fast, cheap, global payments. BCH has a market cap of over $10B.

LTC – Litecoin

Litecoin (LTC) is a cryptocurrency based on the Litecoin Network. LTC is based on the original Bitcoin blockchain but there are some important differences. Litecoin has no hard cap making it scalable, and transactions are both faster and more cost effective. LTC has a market cap of well over $10B.

ETH – Ethereum

Ethereum (ETH) is a coin based on the Ethereum network. Ethereum is a smart contract facilitator allowing transactions to automatically take place without the need of human oversight or decision making. The Ethereum network also allows tokens of other kinds to be created using the core code, making ETH one of the most popular blockchains available today. ETH has a market cap of over $360B and takes up 20% of the crypto space.

ADA – Cardano

Cardano (ADA) is a proof-of-stake blockchain that provides a higher degree of decentralization than most other blockchains can. Founded in 2017 by one of the original founders of Ethereum, ADA is one of the largest proof-of-stake chains in the crypto space. Cardano has a market cap of over $50B.

DOGE – Dogecoin

Dogecoin (DOGE) is a cryptocurrency that was created as a kind of joke, as Elon Musk has put it. Forked from Litecoin in 2013, DOGE has been used in many internet payment applications and has risen in value considerably since its inception. Dogecoin has a market cap of nearly $35B.

Best Bitcoin Trading

BTC – Bitcoin

Bitcoin (BTC) is the largest and oldest cryptocurrency available today. First used in 2010, BTC has risen in value from the sub-$5 range to levels as high as 15,000% above those initial prices. Today, Bitcoin enjoys broad institutional acceptance and investors can use BTC in a wide variety of contexts.
