Moomoo started offering trading in over-the-counter stocks. To begin trading OTC securities with a Moomoo account, you must first complete a risk disclosure form. Once this online paperwork is done, you’re ready to start trading.

Availability of OTC Securities at Moomoo
Moomoo does not offer every security in the OTC market. Because its equity screener cannot search by exchange, it is hard to tell exactly how many OTC assets are available for trading. What is known is that the broker’s desktop platform and mobile app accept ticker symbols for OTC securities. If a ticker is tradable, it will show a profile with trade buttons.
If you need a screener to find an OTC stock, a good tool is available on the OTC Markets Group website.
Example of an OTC Stock
Using the OTC Markets Group search tool, we found Harleysville Financial Corporation with the ticker symbol HARL. Entering this ticker in Moomoo’s desktop platform, we saw that it is available for trading.
The profile for HARL on Moomoo shows that it is a bank holding company based in Harleysville, PA. It was founded in 1915, so it has been around for a long time.
Moomoo’s trading platforms show some, but not all, financial data from Harleysville’s operations. According to its balance sheet, HARL had total revenue of $25.7 million in fiscal year 2021. This is a small figure. However, the stock does pay a dividend ($0.29 in the most recent quarter).
HARL trades on the OTCQX market, which is the top tier in the OTC space. The company’s annual report must be audited and its financial releases must follow GAAP standards. HARL is also not allowed to be a penny stock. Its latest share price was $25.64.
