How To Get Reduced Commissions on TD Ameritrade
As you can see from the price schedule above, commissions at TD Ameritrade for stocks and ETFs are
at $0 and cannot get any lower. Mutual funds investors at TD Ameritrade could choose funds that are
commission-free: over 4,200 NTF mutual funds are available and commissions on them could not be
reduced either. However, futures and options still have trading charges.
Luckily, if you are a TD Ameritrade customer, and you are an active trader, you can simply call
TD Ameritrade and negotiate reduced trading commissions on futures and options. How low could they
go? It depends on how many trades you are making. The broker might be able to go much lower for the right
customers. Or, as an alternative, you can simply open an account at
$0-commission broker called WeBull,
that charges nothing for options trades. We are yet to see a broker that offers free futures commissions.
