If you have a Coinbase account and want to earn some extra cash, the crypto broker has a refer-a-friend program that pays out bonuses to both the referring account and the referred account. Here are the details:
Overview of Coinbase's Refer-a-Friend Program
Refer a friend or anybody else using a unique URL available in your Coinbase account. When they place a trade worth at least $20, both you and the new customer get $30 each. That's a total payout of $60.
The $30 figure is for U.S.-based accounts. Accounts registered in other countries may receive different amounts. The $30 bonus is made in U.S. dollars. The $20 required purchase must be for a cryptocurrency of some kind (not necessarily Bitcoin).
Getting the Coinbase Referral Link
The new customer must open their new account using a special referral link. This URL can easily be found in the website or mobile app. On the former platform, log in and click on the link to invite friends in the left-hand vertical column. You'll get a page with an invite link; here, you can copy the link. There's also a share button that can be used to send out the link to social media sites, such as Meta and WhatsApp.
On the mobile app, log in and tap on the hamburger icon in the upper-left corner. You'll get the same vertical list of choices; tap on the link to invite friends. You'll get the same page with the same URL.
Coinbase Referral Code Fine Print
Residents of Turkey and the United Kingdom are not eligible for this promotion.
The required $20 purchase must be made within 90 days of account opening. The new account must be opened through the special URL, and the new customer must actually be new to Coinbase.
The new customer must make their required purchase of cryptocurrency on Coinbase or Coinbase One. If the purchase is made on Coinbase Advanced or Coinbase Prime, no bonus will be awarded.
New customers who sign up for Coinbase through the special refer-a-friend link are not eligible for a few other promotions, including the New User First Buy Spin The Wheel Incentive and the Coinbase New User First Trade specials.
Referring customers are only allowed to send their special refer-a-friend links to friends and others who consent to receive the URL.
Coinbase One Referral
Coinbase's premium service Coinbase One also has a referral special. Coinbase One customers who refer friends to the premium subscription will get $10 off the next month's subscription. The new Coinbase One client gets 30 days of the premium package for free plus $10 off their first month's subscription.
Once again, a special URL is required. This unique link can be found on the Coinbase One page (go into the vertical menu again and this time click or tap on the Coinbase One link). The same rules noted above about sending it out apply here.
The new customer to One must actually be new to One without any previous subscriptions.
Multiple friends can be referred to Coinbase One, which can result in enough discounts to pay for a full month of the premium subscription or even more.
Currently, the Coinbase One referral program is available only to residents of the United States.
